We named the men's tribe "Rbus Kunpab" which means "male strength" in Khmer, the language of Cambodia. Cambodia is a paternalistic culture where men (especially fathers) are considered a symbol of strength and dominance in the family and society. We kept the tribe name traditional to respect the culture of the land we are visiting and to show respect to the other tribe's members as well. We included brown through the Angkor Wat, the famed Cambodian temple which is the largest of its kind in the world. It was built in the 12th century as homage to King Suryavarman II, and is the only one to have remained a significant source of religious worship since its inception. We believe this shows our tribe's knowledge of Cambodia and our deep respect for the Cambodian people's religion and customs. Our design was multi-layered and brainstormed by most of the women on the tribe. It was completed by KJ, who used a filter to run the background through the picture, giving it texture and purpose. All the men's pictures are of the same size, symbolizing teamwork, and each is black and white as to not detract focus from the central place of worship. We thank you all for your consideration and wish you luck in judging the challenge. Sincerely, The women's tribe
